The Cottages

~ ALL accommodations well equipped with A/C, Ceiling Fans, Cable TV, free Wi-Fi, Hair Dryers, Irons, Ironing Boards, Beach Towels, Bath Towels,  Bed Linens, Coffee Makers, Hot Water, and In-Room Safes~

~ ALL Cottages have private patios with a dining table, and Full Kitchens consisting of an oven, cook top, microwave, toaster, cookware, plate ware, silverware, utensils, etc.  Some specialty kitchen items are available at the front desk upon request ~

~ Our Hotel Room accommodations do not have full kitchens but kitchenettes ~

~Housekeeping is provided every day except Sundays and major Holidays, fresh towels and supplies are always available at the front desk~

~ Rates are per night for 1 or 2 adults plus an 8% VI Hotel Tax and a 10% Energy Surcharge.  Winter Rates span December 1st to April 30th and Summer Rates from May 1 to November 30th~
~7 night minimum stay required in winter season and in premium cottages year round, Shorter stays can be booked 30 days or less prior to arrival based on availability~
~For reservations of 4 nights or less we reserve the right to move your reservation in favor of a longer reservation~
~ $15 per night extra for each additional adult over 2 ~ No Charge for the first two children under 18 and a $10 per night extra charge for each additional child~

~ When you are ready to book, we will need your contact information, reservation details, and means of a deposit - preferrably a credit card. ~
~ Please place a reservation through our Online Reservation System here or by calling our Reservation Line at 1-800-323-7252 or our Office at 340-772-0495. ~

~ A two-night deposit is required to hold a reservation.  We prefer deposits be paid by any major credit card which will show on your statement as “Benedict Beach Cottages”.  As a second option for a deposit is to mail a check or money order made out to “Benedict Beach Cottages” to 127A Estate Smithfield, Frederiksted US Virgin Islands 00840.  First Class postage will work. ~
~ Your reservation will be confirmed once the deposit and contact information is received and barring any conflicts.  Reservation confirmations will be sent via email only – please allow at least 24 hours or longer.  Reservations cannot be confirmed more than a year in advance. ~

Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations for Winter Season reservations must be made 60 days or more prior to arrival to avoid forfeiting deposit and 30 days for Summer Season reservations.  Cancellations must be in writing, preferably by sending us an email.  Deposits on a Credit Card will only be refunded to a credit card, make sure we have an unexpired credit card.  Cancellation confirmations will only be sent via email.  In some instances, deposits for cancellations made less than 60/30 days prior to arrival can be reapplied to a future visit within one year. There is a cancellation fee of $10 for each reservation that is cancelled.

Located about 60 steps to the beach, Crew is our most economical room. Crew features a small refrigerator, an open shower to the room, and windows on 3 sides that maximize the benefit of the tropical breezes.  Unique to Crew is a spacious closet, with overhead storage for suitcases.  Crew is popular with active travelers who are looking for a “place to hang my hat.”  Recommended for a maximum of 2 people, the bed can be made into either a king or 2 twins.  Crew is discounted to half price during the summer season if booked and rented with the Commodore’s Villa next door.

Newly built in December 2007, Sylvia is a beachfront room located about 10 steps to the water.  While Sylvia is one of our smaller rooms, it is very nicely decorated, and has large front windows that provide a beautiful and unobstructed view of the beach.  Recommended for a maximum of 2 people, Sylvia has a queen bed only.  Sylvia is discounted to half price during the summer season if booked and rented with the Caribe cottage next door.  For families travelling together, there is an adjoining door to the Caribe cottage.

Located between our Calypso and Cruzan cottages, Conch was remodeled 5 years ago, and is about 20 steps to the beach.  One of our smaller cottages, Conch features: double windows at the front of the room, a full kitchen, a step up to the bathroom, and is the only cottage that has a bathtub.  The patio is comfortable and breezy, with a shady afternoon exposure.  Recommended for a maximum of 2 people, the bed can be made into either a king or 2 twins.

Cone is an efficient cottage with an open layout, high ceilings, and a full kitchen.  Located about 40 steps to the beach, Cone’s patio has a southern exposure, and a partial view of the water.  Cone has windows on 3 sides, including one in the shower for the breezes.  Beds are normally arranged as either a king or 2 twins.  A third twin can be added to the room for a $15 one-time charge.  For families travelling together, there is an adjoining door to the Cockle cottage next door. Cone Shell cottage is discounted to half price during the summer season if booked and rented with the Cockle Shell cottage next door.

Cockle is similar to the Cone Shell cottage, but was newly remodeled in November of 2008.  Small improvements to the cottage make it feel bigger and brighter.  Located about 45 steps to the beach, Cockle’s patio has more privacy, while maintaining the same southern exposure.  Cockle also has windows on 2 sides, including one in the shower for the breezes.  Recommended for a maximum of 3 people, Cockle has a queen bed and a twin bed at all times.  For families travelling together, there is an adjoining door to the Cone and Cowry Shell cottages on either side of the cottage.

Cowry also has the same layout as the Cone Shell cottage, but in the original rustic theme.  Linoleum floors and brown paneled walls give Cowry a cabin-like feel.  Cowry has windows on three sides, including one in the shower, that maximize the benefit of our wonderful easterly breezes.  Located about 50 steps to the beach, Cowry’s patio also has the same southern exposure.  For families travelling together, there is an adjoining door to Cockle Shell cottage. Cowry Shell cottage is discounted to half price during the summer season if booked and rented with the Cockle Shell cottage next door.

Spacious, charming, and with an open layout, Caravelle is located about 20 steps to the beach.  Caravelle features a red brick floor, a stone wall behind the bed, windows on 3 sides partial views of the beach, and an adjoining back door onto a large covered patio that belongs to the Commodore’s Villa.  Because of its central location to both parking and the beach, Caravelle has less privacy when compared to other cottages.  The bed in Caravelle is a king that can be separated into 2 twins.  Recommended for a maximum of 4 people, 2 additional twin beds can be added for a $15 one-time charge each.

Spacious, breezy, elegant, and highly recommended is how our guests describe Calypso.  Completely remodeled during the fall of 2008, and located 25 steps to the beach, Calypso’s features include: an open & efficient layout, windows on 2 sides, tumbled marble floors, a large shower, a beautiful décor, and is handicapped accessible.  Unique to Calypso is a large patio with a northeastern exposure which provides a shady afternoon retreat.  Calypso has both a king bed and a twin day bed in the front.  Recommended for a maximum of 4 people, a second twin bed can be added for a $15 one-time charge.

Sometimes referred to as Commodore's Villa, this is our most spacious cottage.  Located about 30 steps to the beach, the Villa is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage with a spacious living room and a large kitchen.  The bedroom has a king bed, and there is a twin day bed in the living room usually.  Recommended for a maximum of 4 people, a second twin bed can be added to the living room for a $15 one-time charge.  The Villa also features windows on 3 sides, and a large covered patio that can adjoin to Caravelle cottage.

Located below Crow’s Nest cottage and proudly overlooking the beach, this cozy little cottage has kept honeymooners and couples happy for decades.  The panoramic view up and down the beach from your private patio keeps guests coming back year after year.  Just jump over your patio’s wall and you will be in the beach sand!  The only down side is that this is a small cottage for two people only - adding an additional bed is not recommended.  The upside is that you cannot get any closer to the beach than this!

Located a mere 10 steps to the beach, Chocolate is quiet, nicely decorated, and cool & well insulated – the perfect room for those who like to take a break from the Caribbean sunshine.  Chocolate features a sunken sleeping area, a spacious closet, a glass door that opens to the beach, and a partial patio for sitting & reading.  Sleeping arrangements are either a king bed or 2 twins.  A third twin bed can be added for a $15 one-time charge.  Chocolate is discounted to half price during the summer season if rented with the Cruzan cottage next door.  For families travelling together, there is an adjoining door to the Cruzan cottage.

Centrally located with an open floor plan, this cottage is a mere 10 steps from the beach and has the most spacious and comfortable private patio available with en elevated view of the beach through the coconut trees!  Recommended for only two vacationers, Cruzan features a California King bed, cheerful colors, a split bathroom, flat screen TV and excellent ventilation.  There is an adjoining door through the kitchen with Chocolate Room next door to give you the option of turning this cottage into a spacious 1-bedroom 2-bathroom for the additional price of Chocolate Room.  Chocolate is discounted to half price in summer if simultaneously rented with Cruzan cottage for those who need the extra space.

The first cottage built in 1949, Coral cottage is a 1-bedroom and 1-bathroom cottage featuring cross-breezes, cheerful Caribbean colors, a spacious patio, high ceilings in the front room and a comfortable kitchen.  The “L” shaped couch in the living room pulls out into a bed for a third person and to sleep a fourth person a twin bed can be added to the living room for a $15 one-time charge.  This cottage is perfect for small families or those who need the extra space.  The front private patio has an adjoining side door with Sylvia cottage to create a communal court yard if the two cottages are rented simultaneously.

This stand-alone cottage is a mere 5 steps from the beach, and has a relaxing view of both the beach and mountains.  Often referred to as the “Honeymoon Cottage” by many of our long time guests, Carnival boasts a truly romantic feel.  A cottage with an open floor plan, Carnival has excellent ventilation provided by windows on all 4 sides.  Designed as an intimate cottage for two, the bed can only be made into a California king, adding an additional bed is not recommended.  Because Carnival is one of our most popular cottages, it is scheduled to be remodeled within the next 3 years.

Remodeled in Fall of 2009, this colorful and modern cottage features our most luxurious kitchen, high ceilings, and a spacious outside patio for relaxing. Coco Palm is normally set up with a King Bed that can be split into two twin beds when requested. We can also add a twin bed to the room for a $15 one-time charge. Coco Palm has an adjoining room in the back called Coco Bean that can also be rented with Coco Palm for an additional nightly fee of $50 per night in the Summer and $65 per night in Winter. Coco Bean comes set up with a king bed normally but can be split into two twin beds when requested. No additional beds can be added to Coco Bean. Coco Bean features its own bathroom, TV, Safe, Kitchinette, AC and a separate entrance. When renting the two cottages together, they can sleep up to 5 people comfortably.

A delightful cottage skillfully remodeled in the fall of 2007, Calabash is located about 15 steps to the beach.  Perhaps our most private and quiet cottage, Calabash features:  an open and organized layout, a big screen TV that swivels, windows on 3 sides for refreshing breezes, a large shower, a comfy breakfast booth with a view, a galley kitchen with deep countertops, and a generously sized patio looking out to the beach.  The color scheme, decorations, and fabrics appeal to our most discerning guests.  Recommended for a maximum of 3 people, the bed in Calabash can be arranged as a king or 2 twins.  A third twin can be added to the room for a $15 one-time charge.

Remodeled in the fall of 2007 in the same spirit as Calabash, Caribe boasts an unusually close proximity to the beach, only 3-5 steps!  Caribe’s features include: a panoramic view, a central location, windows on 3 sides, a large shower with a window, a galley kitchen with a deep countertop, and a partial separation between the front and back halves of the cottage.  The color scheme, decorations, and fabrics appeal to our most discerning guests.  The bed can only be arranged as a king.  The loveseat couch in the front will pull out into a twin bed.  Recommended for 3 people maximum, a twin can be added to the room for a $15 one-time charge, but does make the room feel cramped.  There is an adjoining door with the Sylvia Room to give you the option of turning Caribe into a 1-bedroom for the additional price of Sylvia's Cottage. Sylvia is discounted to half price in summer if rented with Caribe cottage at the same time - something to think about.

Remodeled in the fall of 2006, Chart House boasts breathtaking, panoramic views of Frederiksted, the mountains beyond, and the Caribbean Sea from its front wall of windows!  A private, stand-alone cottage that’s located 5 steps to the beach, with beautiful stone walls and windows on 3 sides, this cottage contains two large rooms that are partially separated by the bathroom and a galley kitchen.  Chart House also features an oversized shower with a bench and windows, two large spacious closets, high ceilings, and our most private and secluded patio.  Chart House is truly a unique cottage that appeals to our most discerning guests.  The bed can only be arranged as a king, but a daybed is available in the living room area.  More twin beds can be added to the cottage for a one-time charge of $15 each.  This cottage is recommended for a 4-person maximum, but can accommodate up to 6.  Perfect for couples, families, or friends!

Located 10 steps from the beach, this second floor cottage above our Conch and Cruzan cottages has it all!  An open layout with high ceilings, this cottage features:  beautiful views over the beach, strong breezes, cheerful Caribbean colors & decor, a memory foam king bed, a large patio, and privacy.  The bed is arranged as a king only, but the cottage has a couch that pulls out into a large twin bed for a third person.  Another twin bed can be added to the room for a one-time charge of $15.  Windows are on 3 sides, with an adjoining door in the kitchen leading to the Cocktail cottage next door.  This cottage is perfect for honeymooners and discerning couples alike.  As a reminder, this is a second floor cottage with stairs only.

Cocktail is similar to the Coconut cottage in size and décor, but with a slightly different layout.  Located 10 steps from the beach, this second floor cottage above our Chocolate and Calabash cottages, is almost the same size as Coconut.  Featuring more separation between the front and back of the cottage, Cocktail better lends itself to either small families, or 3-4 people.  The bed is arranged as a king only, and up to 2 twin beds can be added to the room for a one-time charge of $15 each.  Windows are on 3 sides, with an adjoining door in the kitchen leading to the Coconut cottage next door.  This cottage was also newly built in 2004, and is perfect for honeymooners, discerning couples, and close families.  As a reminder, this is a second floor cottage with stairs only.

e water.  Stepping into the front portion of the cottage, you enter a spacious kitchen and dining area.  The front and the back of the cottage are separated by a wide hallway, which contains a spacious closet and entrance to the bathroom.  The back portion of the cottage contains the bedroom area.  The bed in this cottage is normally arranged as a king.  A third twin can be added to the front of the cottage in the kitchen for a one-time charge of $15.  Because this cottage has such good breezes, an air conditioner is not in the cottage, extra portable fans are available and ceiling fans are located above the bed and in the kitchen.  There are windows are on 4 sides, including one in the shower for the breezes.  As a reminder, this is a second floor cottage with stairs only.
